We discovered that the trick is to add salt to the gas, it makes it lighter and therefore your gauge reads half the volume!

Re: Too much Gas for the show?

Last year when I was in the show, nobody checked my tank, they just make sure the cap is taped off, in the case of a Mk4, the door locks and there is no worries.

my first year, OMG. i would not be able to drive it off in time, i was late already, i tried like 3 different syphons, no go, (our tanks are syphon proof i think), finally went to dealer, paid them to take all my fuel out. you can access the tank by taking out the rear seat, its under it.

Under rear seat, 3 phillips screws. Take off cover, unplug connector, screw back cover. All done. Bart, they would have to have done all this and more to get at your fuel to drain it! Ha
