RPMs???

Just a question that i would put out to people......

What is the RPM's that your car is hitting when your crusing down the highway at 110-120 kms. And with that is your car stock or moded?

ohhh i haven't been in my car in so long but i think 110 is like 3100 or 3200 or so thats on my stg1.5 (lol) 1.8t

Ryan's right I think approximately. It feels pretty high especially at 120ish or when I am on the highway I sometimes like to bump that up just a little more. Also the engine is seeing boost if you're not careful on the throttle, which can't be good on fuel economy.

A lot of people who drive their 1.8T a lot get a TDI 5th gear put in, it makes you drop like 600 rpms in 5th, which is awesome. You won't race in 5th anyhow since you can make like 180km/h in 4th (or so i've heard)

At 120 I'm at exactly 3000rpm but thats probably because I have a Tiptronic rather than a manual like most of the guys on here.

I tested it in my 1.8t manual on the way home, 120 is also exactly 3k for me, and 3.5k is exactly 140.

120 = 3k, and of course 6k = 240km/h.

Once I stuff some larger OD tires on it it will drop a tad (3-5%).

I dunno about you guys but on the highway doing 110 - 120 I don't need to bother downshifting to pass.

nope.. i cruise 5th gear 60+ all the time.. good for mileage.. turbo does the rest to make me move

120 km/h comes up around 3200 RPM for me in 6th gear.
