I got the ZeroStart from Canadian Tire (Temro), Dalhousie location. They had 750W and 1000W. I got the 1000W, but the tank/heater unit appeared to be identical in size between the two.
They were hidden away in the back at the parts counter somewhere, and were all covered in dust. Guess they are not in winter mode yet.
Edit: 1000W Cdn Tire part 30-3295 (Temro part 3305002), 750W part 30-3294
Yah, have to ask for Zerostart or Temro....It was behind the counter when I did this a couple years back......The tards behind the counter at Canadian Tire never know ****
i just bought a series 8000 750W zerostart, on the package it said there is a check valve, is that the one that have major problems??
also, i was looking into the gregg distributor's flyer, should i get the industrial or non-industrial 1000W for a 2.0T FSI MKV??
please help!
just to let everybody know, i have asked George @ Tunedub to get this install for me, and i think he charges 1.5 or 2 hrs for it... great deal i will say compared to the quote i got from the dealership, $550 for the pan heater+labor....
I believe the ones with check valves will not work. You have to remember you are putting it inline with the current coolant flow. So if there is a valve shutting it off when it is not working you are going to have no coolant flow.
