I think the only thing he forgot to factor in to his testing was "Bling Factor", that's probably why FMIC's are more popular, because it's more visible.
1. We don't know how the intercoolers were piped (makes a big difference)
2. We don't know how big the front mount is (typically would be MUCH larger)
3. On a dyno, very little air is flowing over any kind of intercooler, since the car is standing still.KR

Re: FMIC vs. SMIC
not really.. pretty much your first run is your best.. if they had like a bunch of those big fans going then i'd maybe do something but think of how fast you'd be going on a highway if you were going full out in 4th gear like 200 or something i forget exactly but imagine the air at that speed compared to a fan

Re: FMIC vs. SMIC
I thought the FMIC was one of the best performance mods on my car. Felt good. Its definitely not worth paying big bucks but if you can find a good deal... its a good mod. Its just expensive compared to a chip.
Upgrade your turbo to real speeds (of coz higher HP then basic bolt ons) and you'll defintely watch your HP decrease from heatsoak.... you'll need a firehose to keep that stock IC cool =)
