Cold Start - fan noise....

Hey Guys, normally I park in the comfort of heated underground. However, this weekend I was out and about.

My Golf 2.0 started no problem, but the interior fan howls like an SOB. What gives? It takes about 5 minutes at -20 to stop.

thats the secondary air pump doing its thing when your car sounds funky on cold starts..
