Mine squeeks too. Is this a sign of any kinda failure?

Well on mine the pedal itself is the squeaky bit...when pushing in or letting it out. It sounds like a plastic-on-plastic squeak/creak....

The archives on audiworld say its not so much a failure as a design flaw. As the contact between the two "cylinders" that link up to the pedal wear, it begins to make that noise. Its annoying, and is exaggerated by the cold weather (not as bad on some hot days)....I've sprayedWD40 all up there, the guys at C1 tried as well but no help.....

The only sure-fire fix seems replacing the master and slave clutch cylinders....

At least I'm not the only one with a clutch pedal that drives me nuts.....

Looks like a possible fix, WD-40 won't last, use a real grease of some kind i'm thinking.

mine used to squeak...then I got my garage to completely take apart the clutch pedal assembly and lube it to death -- hasn't squeaked since! Unfortunately, I have no idea what kind of grease they used...

Well, if I still take my car to C1, I'll get them to do it when they do the clutch.......

me != mechanically inclined
I'll do oil changes and that's it....
