  • Considering getting some work done...

O.k., my smashed rear bumper mishap is about a month or so past now... and I have finally had some time back in the country to get serious about getting the damn thing fixed. I was initially just going to replace my "stock" bumper with new 20th Anny stock equipment, but then I thought to myself... "Gee man... this is your opportunity to do something cool for once with your car."

So anyways, I've been interested lately in replacing my broken rear 20th bumper with a R32 rear bumper and getting some custom exhaust work done (ie. mock dual exhaust). Only question is, as I'm new to this "body modding" stuff... Where or who? ...would I go to in order to make these pipe dreams a reality? Can someone give me some leads?

Thanks in advance... and Merry Christmas All!

Well Simon at EU Tuning should be able to get you a bumper (if you want a real OEM one) and then get a body shop to paint her up and then off to an exhaust shope to get your dual tips!! Go for it!!

Currently talking to a U.S. Dealer that has a "Euro Spec" rear R32 bumper. Apparently, the support bar has to be "shaved down" slightly? in order to fit a MkIV, which doesn't bother me that much. My only question is, does "Euro Spec" mean that the rear center of the bumper will be molded for a Euro plate as well?

Not sure I'm interested in dealing with that.... well, that is unless AB starts making AB Legal Euro personalized plates!

      Cheers All...

You can change the rebar to a euro spec one which is probably easiest but I guess you could mod the NA one. Both Simon L and Bart have euro rears and changed the rebars. The plate opening will be euro but it is cooler so dont worry and then you can fit both euro plates and Alberta. If you trim the Aberta plate down about 1 cm they fit fine. Go fot it!!!

That pic is totally pchopped and not on the best scale. So far this is the only pic I found but if you look at Simon's silver Golf you see it is fine!

Really? Everywhere I look, I keep seeing "...single exhaust cut-out or no visible exhause cut out..."? Is there a dual exhaust R-Line rear bumper out there somewhere?

                    Cheers...

SouthCentre just said "...only single cut out and hidden offered." Are you sure a dual exhaust version is out there? Hmmm....
