Re: WARNING: Do not take your car to GT Car Star

    Update: car is fixed.

Fifth Ave reattached the coolant hoses and purged the cooling system and also did my 32k service. GT paid for the work which was a relief. I was worried I'd get into a situation where I would have to pay for it then fight with both parties to have it paid for.

GT picked up the car and fixed the remaining problems. I think the service guy at Fifth Ave was a little misinformed about the cardboard situation, as it was just left over from a previous adjustment to the hood sensor and hadn't been removed.

After the service and the reattached intake bits, the car seems to drive nice and smooth. I wonder how much of the air flow was being diverted by the missing ducts and covers.

So hopefully my "adventure" is over.

It sounds like maybe the dealer was exaggerating a little bit... this is known to happen. Of course the dealership wants to make everyone else's work look shoddy, so you keep bringing your car back over and over.

On the other hand it looks like GT Car Star also had some oversights, which is not really excusable either.
