What do you mean by desired?

Chip companies have decided that going from 9-10 psi to 15-16 psi is safe.

If you go higher, you are probably reducing your turbo's life, but yes you will see gains.

The only thing to watch for is heat. With the stock IC you will probably get too hot at some point, and the increased pressure will be worse.

      Hey Sup Kor,

I have the Upsolute FMIC. I just thought at a certain point the ko3s burns out even though it can go and sometimes hold at 20 psi.

          Re: MBC Question

With the intercooler, you can basically run as much boost as you want without seeing any loss due to heat.

However, the higher boost you demand the more stress you put on the turbo. I don't know where there "breaking point" is but basically once you go over stock you reduce the life of the turbo, and once you go over chipped levels you reduce its life even more. If you look at the compressor map it is a fact that even at chipped levels you are basically at the "danger zone"...

Also remember that the intercooler also puts more stress on the turbo, since it has to move more air to get an equivilent pressure at a lower temperature.

One of the criticisms of the K04 is that a bunch of people ran them daily at 20-22psi (about what the internals can handle) and had the turbos go in a few months (see: vortex). Well, basically they are the same design as the K03s and so they shouldn't have expected more.

In summary, it is my opinion that if you want to run more than 17-18psi you shouldn't do it on a K03 or K04 without expecting problems down the road.

            Hey Simon,

Rene gave you a new file for the MBC. Its suppose to make the part throttle limp mode go away. Can we arrange another time I can come by and I'll pick up some other products in your garage =)

Nothing from Rene, are you sure he wasn't talking about the file I just did for you?

Hmm this was after I put up the posting on my part throttle issue with the new file I had on the upsolute forum. I'll ask him again.
