I have to say that I am not as disappointed as I thought I would be, although I will reserve final judgement for when I see one in person.


That said, the color of the one in the pic is brutal!!!

IMO the best new looking small sedan is the mazda 3 i really dig those cars for some reason.. no idea on aftermarket or build quality tho

Not as bad as I thought it was gonna be based on the concept drawings & spy photos. I like the front end of it.

Well I read the details on the Vortex and seems interesting, here is a slight review for the chronologically challenged:

Public debut Jan 5/05 with pricing announced
On sale March 2005 US & Canada
2.5L 5 cylinder base engine 150hp with 5 speed manual or 6 speed tiptronic
1.9l 100hp diesel with 5 speed manual or 6 speed DSG!
2.0T 200hp with 6 speed manual or 6 speed DSG in higher trim and GLI

The GLI will be the sport model and should be out summer 2005 way ahead of the GTI which I think sucks. Supposedly Xenons and Nav are going to be options.

Mazda 3 are cool cars but I think the Jetta is in a totally different class, this car I think is going to be closer in rivals to the S40 and TSX which are much similar in size (Jetta V is 7.1 inches longer than the Jetta IV) I also look forward to what the wagon will be like!!

The 3 and the 6 are very good cars. As blair said, the Jetta isn't really to be compared with the 3 but I think its in the same market as the 6.

The Mazdaspeed 6 is out: all-wheel drive with a turbocharged 270-hp 2.3-liter four, a six-speed manual and a sport suspension. Hard to beat that.
