Re: First Official Photo on Jetta V

In my opinion it's nicer than the spy photos were... but it doesn't make me want to go out and buy one. I think the GTI looks alot nicer than the Jetta. The Jetta is a little to long and honda accordish.

With that said I think that's where VW is headed with the MK5. The GTI will be the fun/tuner car, whereas the Jetta will appeal to middle aged folks with a family.
Sidewalks are for normal walkin.... aint no room for fancy walkin....

Well thats the way it is really supposed to be as you have a 2 door hatch and a 4 door sedan. However the GLI should be a Jetta GTI this time around and they are not totally dismissing the idea of a 3.2l V6 4 motion Jetta, so far anyway.

      Another cool pchop

Damn, that is hot. Why couldn't VW come up with a design like that. It seems like a nature progression for the jetta

Bigger car.... Although, I'm still thinking 200 hp is underpowered. The big cars (in the same class as MKVs will be) are generally around 250 horsepower. I see it fitting in with the Altimas and Maximas.... which are 250 and 265 respectfully. The TSX and company come with around 240 as well, I think?

It looks alright. I definately do NOT like the backend though. Blair and Kris pchopping looks HOT though!!! Kudos guys. Won me over.

What are you smoking?? This car looks NOTHING like a corolla, not to mention it is way larger than the toyota.

it'll be interesting to see people modify the looks of those. To me it looks like it's gonna be hard to make a body kit for a car like that, but I'm sure people will make stuff that'll look good. I think it looks good, but, like Kris, miss the squarish lines (perhaps we'll just have to go out and get ourselves a couple of '86 Volvos and mod them )
