  • Mystery "clunk" in front end

I writing for a buddy at work. He's got a '03 Jetta that makes a clunking noise in the front end when going over bumps. Any ideas? He's already suspecting worn struts (Bilstein TC's on order).

If it's a 03 I'd go dealer - having nice new stock struts in the garage is better than nice broken struts. And it could be a bunch of things. You go and replace the suspension and then find out it's your cv joint or something you'll have an uphill battle.

My 05 did the same thing. It is the bushings on the sway bar...I believe there is a recall?
