Yup this was posted once before... I would not do it on my car since I am often at full boost and my exhaust is plenty loud enough.

That's pretty much what I was asking about in another thread, but I wouldn't want it automatic. A switch to flip it open or closed (much like we flip ASR off if racing). Also, does anyone else think the angle is far too abrubt? It needs to be like 45 degrees, not 90.

I am SO getting one of these. It's far cheaper than a cat-back and gives higher gains. Although I will likely get a downpipe first, but that's another story.

As for a switch, it shouldn't be too difficult. All you would need to do is insert a switch of some form (manual, electric, etc) in the path of the vacuum line to kill the actuating air pressure. You could easily run some sort of switch in to the cabin. Wouldn't cost much more than about 20 bucks, I suspect.

I think this is a dangerous way to think about what is really a hole in your exhaust.

One other consideration is that one of the great things you can gain from less restriction downstream of the turbo is faster and earlier spool. However this device requires the positive pressure generated from a turbo that has already spooled, whether you put some type of a pneumatic switch in there or not.

In other words, because this device does not open until the turbo IS fully spooled, there would be no gain in how fast your turbo spools up.

This would also definitely cause cat efficiency codes (check engine light).

Help, maybe a bit, but I personally wouldnt choose to spill my smoke (espcially with nozzles) anywhere but out the back of my car!

"The evolution of the exhaust diverter valve is here"

Thats what the website says... is that not the dumbest introduction to a product you've ever heard?

Anyways, looks like an interesting idea, someone here should try it!

I just bought an install kit for new injectors, it should be here soon. I have read the DIY on the tdiclub and it doesn't look all that hard but I could give you a hand.
