Narrowed my decision down to either borla or brullen. Anyone running either of these systems or have two cents to contribute. Looking for nothing too rude sounding for daily use,

    Re: vr6 exhaust

I have the Brullen. I am not as satisfied with it as I once was. The sound seems to change from day to day. One day it will be quiet deep and throaty, and the next it will be somewhat droney. I think if I had the choice to do over I would go with the Miltek, or Scorpion.

EDIT: That said, you still can't beat the sound of a VR6 with a cat back.

From what I have heard, and if I could do things over again.... I would probably go with Miltek as well. My Neuspeed is too loud and droney for my tastes; but at least the car sounds mean.

I have a Borla muffler. Flows very good. Bit loud under full throttle. Good at idle though. If you want quiet, I would stay away, I would say its louder than most, annoys me on 3+ hour long highway drives.

I don't want real quiet, as it is now you wouldn't know there is v6 under the hood. Sounds like a 4 cyl to me The factory exhaust does not do this motor justice
I know the stock pipes are 2.25 and wouldn't going any larger kill your bottom end torque
IS there any gain in just changing the muffler itself

I believe the stock is 2.17" isn't it? But anyway, yes increasing the pipes are gonna lose you a few pounds of torque down low, but more than makes up for it by higher RPM horsepower. I think its a worthy tradeoff. And changing just the muffler will alter it slightly, but you wont see as many gains as a full catback.

I have Brullen 2.5", and its too loud for my tastes.

                Re: vr6 exhaust

Guys at C1 are really pushing the APR system, and they stated that the brullen is nothing more than a stock replacement!!!
Guess they don't want to sell any, or is the rumour true that brullen may be going out of bussiness??
Read alot of good things about milltek and magnaflow. but also heard that the magnaflows are quite loud compared to most.
                Any opinions are allways appreciated

                Thanks in advance

thats really funny what C1 is doing, because when they only had Brullen they said it was one of the best on the market, and now they haev APR they'll say its the best on the market.

that being said, personally I think APR is one of the best on the market, up there with Milltek. C1 also carries magnaflow and Geoff (Khyron) has that setup, and its not much louder than stock at all, probably one of the more quieter ones.

My supersprint is quiet too, but sounds nice......very refined, if not a bit overly quiet.....Its 2.25", mated to a 2.5" brullen downpipe....That being said, on a VR you will lose some torque with big piping....not so much on Turbo'd cars, as the turbo creates alot of the back pressure at lower RPMs....

There aren't any dealers in Canada-at least that I was able to find. I bought mine from Stratmosphere. I think that they are based in NY.

techtonics tuning (TT) makes a sweet sounding exhaust for vr6's...
www.kompressorkanada.ca has them. I've heard 'em on the dyno, and it's music. Can't report much about hwy drone though, as I've never been in the car
