    Re: Exhaust decision....

2.5" dp+cat rocks. I have the brullen one (and would reccomend it). Adds a nice bit of power on the top end.

After adding this to my existing 2.5" cat-back, I got another 9hp and 13 ft-lbs. Definitely enough to notice, plus it smoothed out the boost delivery accross the rpm band.

Never had a CEL. I think it's pretty rare for CEL's with 2.5" systems, whereas I've seen it quite a bit with the 3" cat's.

        Re: Exhaust decision....

Hey, this a first post for me and would like some advice. Had my 03 GTIVR6 for over a year now and am thinking of upgrading exhaust.
Any sugestions, for a first mod as this is my first VW and i think it's awesome.
Been watching forums at vortex and there is so much you can do
But mostly i am looking to upgrade exhaust and tighten up the suspension a little.
        Any reponse would be appreciated

Word has it that a good cat back will give 8-10 horsepower at the topend. 15-18 (or thereabouts) for a turbo-back with a hi-flow cat. You're looking anywhere from 500 - 1000 bucks installed.

Suspension -- FK Hi Tek Sport spring/shocks are 628 from C1 and they'll stiffen you up a little bit.

Brullen catback would sound pretty mean on a vr6.

no turbo back exhaust on a vr6 when it doesnt have a turbo to go back to.

you'll probably have to drive the 4 hours up here to calgary and hit up concept1 unless your online savy like alot of us and order it from C1 and have them ship it or order it from a place in the us www.ecstuning.com or even www.eutuning.com (locally) can probably get you a good system

I made it from McKenzie Towne to the ScotiaBank on 5th ave in Lethbridge in 1 hour and 17 minutes once.

Oh and a 3" DP+CB will yield slighty higher power increases on a chipped car.

I'll admit,i'm a noob and this is my first VW. So what would be a good exhaust system for a vr6.. nothing to rude sounding , a nice deep growl and not too loud at idle. but a nice WOT sound
