  • Exhaust decision....

Well I got two issues to deal with.....

    1) down pipe or not.....?
    2) adding a high flow cat - is there dash light warning issues from the ECU

So really what I'm getting at is.....has anyone got a high flow cat and had any issues with it...and should I bother with a down pipe......I have already gotten a megna flow catback and trying to decide weather to go all the way or not........suggestions welcome...

    cheers,

    johnny

I believe the downpipe has better gains then the catback portion. If not they are just about equal and the downpipe is less then half the cost. If your getting an exhaust the full turboback is the way to go. If your going economy style go downpipe first =)

excuse my ignorance but turbo back does just refer to the dp, cat and catback correct???

buy a downpipe, a high flow cat, a borla muffler and have a muffler shop make the rest and assemble it...

How much to have a motorized dump valve welded in?

                  Speaking of downpipes,

I still have one in my garage collecting dust. Brullen 2.5" DP with a small leak in the flex portion which can be welded back or returned for a new one because of lifetime warranty.

                  $100 =) ( Sorry about my plug ) lol.

Any non-stock cat has the potential to create a CEL. Unless it flows the same as stock. Which is pointless.

                      Geoff,

Dump valve? I dunno.. supply it and ask a muffler shop how much $$$... Apollo Muffler on Macleod S is pretty reasonable..

100 for a downpipe? If my car doesnt sell, Ill buy the pipe :P

I dunno if there is a solution for VW's, I know for other cars its basically a glorified resistor (they're called MIL Eliminators) for gutted, performance or non-existant cats....

BTW, what is the diameter on your guys' stock dp? Mine's 2.5" (ish) from the factory (but my exhaust used to pinch down to 1.75"!)...
