    I make my own bio-diesel as well. You will lose power on a near stock motor, but bio-diesel has a much higher cetane rating (the diesel equivalent of octane) and thus you can crank the boost and advance the injection timing much further than you can with regular diesel.

    It does, indeed, clean the bejeebers, out of the system. My old crappy pickup has had about 10 litres run thru it and it has de-gunked a LOT.

    I've got some good hookups for the component chemicals and my per-litre price is down around $.25 / l in larger batches.

      For now I think I'm going to stick with a commercial grade of diesel, as I'm sure VW and the warranty dept would have a fit with a home brew concoction.
