    Re: little money to spend....

I also think a custom exhaust is a good way to go. As long as you like the work that the shop does. Ideally you would use mandrel bends though and I am not sure how many shops can mandrel bend 2.5" or 3" pipe.

There are many factors to consider when looking at an exhaust, custom or ready-made. Essentially they are look (tips), sound, flow, and fit. If you are mostly about show and want a good sound, I would buy an exhaust to fit that style. If you are more about performance then I would get something wide open and louder.

Actually the Nav is pretty sweet. I would say rear sway is an excellent buy, especially the ones Simon has with the new endlink design.

CAI and turbo inlet pipe are going to be wastes of your cash.

Money can always be saved then spent later on more expensive mods...

Edit: I picked up this months Eurotuner (congrats to C1 for being mentioned in it) and Performance VW and there are some HOT cars to be seen. Highly recommended. There is this one red Jetta in PVW that is perfect. Next time I do this car-mod thing I will be doing it right, none of this piecemeal crap.

Get some e-code headlights, stock jetta lighting is ****. The headlights were by far the best investment I have on my car

            As far as rear away....

Whats a nav system going to run me......$$$$
I don't want the loud system that howels like the majority of "honda's" you see around, but I am looking for some performance that will see some HP gains...
I really dig the dual exhaust look now I assume that will take a little custom
work...has anyone in the club attempted this??

So many options....not enough money......can't do everthing at once though.

I got good gains with my magnaflow, and I'd hardly call the turbo inlet pipe a waste based on the substantial dyno evidence to the contrary.

by turbo inlet are you refering to say a turbo header??
                  What about a down pipe???

Do you find the Meagnaflow really loud and kinda like a rocket......or more like a low growel??

I really need to get out to a meet and hear some of the different exhaust setups.....

It's louder than stock but not by much. I will be at the meet tonight - should have my db meter as well.

By turbo inlet I mean the inlet pipe - the samco silicon hose that shouldn't make as much gains as it does.

Dual exhaust like the Audis? I have attempted it... and it will work... its not on my Jetta right now... still being built at the shop... Look for me tonight and I will explain...

                            Dude Johnny,

I checked it out.. If you have a bill or two to spend (and your car is stock ride height).... 628 bucks for 35-40mm lowering springs and shocks from C1. Same kit Geoff has on his car... 400 for install through them (or rent a spring compressor and do it yourself) and then get an alignment.

I know that my car is getting dumped as soon as I have 628 bucks lying around...

Nope. About the same ride height as a 20a/e, 337, gli, I think.

But if you drive it year round in C-town I might prefer less of a drop.
