    That poor transmission.

Still too bad you can't swap in a 6-speed manual or something. They always say that when you get transmission repairs done its the best time to upgrade. Although thats typically for people like me who want to upgrade their manuals with lightened flywheel, better clutch, LSD, etc.

I would have loved to swap it out for a 6-speed manual, if it wasn't my only car and I could have parked it for the winter, that would have been one option that I would have put a lot more thought into.

While they were taking a look at the car, I had a quick look around NL and found a GLI with 5 speed Tip. I had though that the GLI had only the 6-speed? If I would have know that the auto would be an option 3 months after I bought this one, I would have waited. They told me it wasn't going to be available.
