I've decided as one of my fall projects among others for my car, will be to dynamat the doors, trunk, and perhaps even the floor. After some research I've decided to go with something called Accumat. Now my question is, does anyone know how heavy this stuff is? Even a general idea?

I can't say I have heard of that stuff off hand. Try their website. I know I put 4 rolls of normal dynamat in my trunk and they really where not that heavy. I was once quoted about $110 to do the full front doors on my car at mobile concepts for some of their higherend sounddeading material. If you want to go the cheap root check into watertank insulation as I have been told it works just as good as anything out there and is cheap (plus it is silver on the outside

rona has some stuff for roofing, rubber/tar sticky on one side and silver on the other. can't remember it's name.
used it in my truck, does help with rattles, it's about 1 to 1.5mm thickput.......put.......

no the rona stuff stinks you don't want it.. it works but you car will reek..
colin actually if enough people are interested on ebay they sell 100ft rolls of brown bag etc for about 100US i think or more but just split the cost with some people
eventually i'm going to do the same and sound dampen my car aswellComment

I defintely don't want anything that will stink. I heard of this newer stuff from Canada called b-quiet, and looked at their webpage yesterday. Actually looks like really good stuff, and is cheaper than any of the other ones.... plus it leaves no odor, and some people on the vortex have said it's easier to apply. If anyone else is interested in doing this, PM me, and maybe we can order bulk to get a discount.

I know you used to be able to get brown bread in bulk on eBay. So you could buy like 100 square feet of it or so.KR

Accumat: 8 Sheets that are 27x24 inches. = $99 U.S. (plus $16 shipping)
Bquiet Xtreme: 100sq ft = $99 U.S. (plus $25 shipping and GST)

I'll be ordering some this week, so if you would like..... we could split. I'm more inclined to go with the b-quiet, first and foremost because you get alot more. 100sq/ft is a ton of it, and would be more than enough.... plus I believe it is a touch lighter.Originally posted by Kor

It sure did. It didn't quieten things down a whole lot, but it got rid of some of the raspy resonance at certain rpm's within the interior. And, it DID NOT stink. It still doesn't stink. It doesn't stink even with my car out in the sun on a 35C day. It's got a silvery backing on it too, so now my trunk looks kind of space-aged when I pull up the carpettingOriginally posted by Mr. Burns
