  • Sources For Optima Batteries

I need a new battery for my Jetta and I want to go with an Optima Red Top for looks and performance. However I am not having an easy time tracking one down that is the right size for my car. Can anyone name some places that carry them that I may try. I have already tried Costco and Mopac. Thanks

Jason at Audio Concepts sells Optima too, not sure if he'll have it in stock though. He's off on Mondays too.

Battery plus in the SE on 52nd street is going to be your best bet in town actually. I have delt with them many many times and they are awesome. Look to pay about $200 for an optima though. I personally would just go with the canadian engery batteries they sell. They have a 6 yr warranty and are great, I personally have had 3 of them and have put many more into other vehicles.

Yeah Costco south has both in stock at the momement but I am getting conflicting reports on which part number is correct for my car and I dont think Costco has either of the two choices I have been seeing.

Just wondering if you phoned battery plus and got a price? I am wondering the $$ difference.

                        Re: Sources For Optima Batteries

The Costco batteries are their own brand (Kirkland). They look just like the Optima ones and I think that there are in fact made by Optima but I have always wonder if the specs are exactly the same. It would be interesting to read a comparision test between the two....

Go to Autotemp (the one closer to concept-1) and ask for rob V.O. - tell him dustin sent you and he'll know where to get them really cheap.

What is the part number for the Optima Red Top for a 2000 TDi?
