    There is either a thread on the vortex or TDIclub that has the part numbers for the optimum optima that will fit a TDI. In my opinion you will need atleast a yellow top for a TDI in this cold weather as they are rated for a higher cold cranking current but really for the $200 you are going to pay for you you could get a much higher rated battery. I talked to a guy at battery plus and the had much higher rated batteries for a bit less.

      Wally World has the red top 35 for 155-160 bucks. A buddy told me they JUST started carrying them. I'll be buying one next payday.

      Nicest find though...they have a BIGGER CCA (790) than the stock Veedub TDi battery(750).

      EDIT: Picked up the Optima RED35 today. Guy at Wally World put it on the tester, 1170 CCA. WOO HOO!!!
