I'm going to get a new engine put in my 2.0. I plan on getting a 1.8T if I can afford it. How much would a new engine set me back. Also, how much would a 2.0 engine with 4000 miles go for?

Re: replacing my 2.0
Oh, about 6+G's...its a big job, I think you're better off selling and buying a car with what you want....Its gonna be hard to sell an original 2.0 car with a 1.8t swap, just due to peoples mechanical fears of heavily modified cars.....While on the topic, for the cost of buying a 1.8t, you could easily turbo or supercharge your 2.0 and it would be a beast!
EDIT: didn't rudy's have a used 1.8t complete for about 4 grand??Last edited by Aleks; 09-12-2004, 07:37 AM.2006 Colorado Xtreme | AEM CAI | Walker exhaust | smoked glass | -1" dropped rear | Avic D3 | 8000K HID's

Re: replacing my 2.0
I dont see the point of swapping a 1.8t into a new jetta.
Cost of the swap would probably be more than the hit you would take selling your car. Like TurboMedic said, your better off turbo'ing the 2.0. Check out ATP's (VW Turbo) site for some ideas.2012 gti, 2012 mustang.
