I paid 22,000 for a full load GTI 2001 with 20,000 on it from a VW dealer so it seems fair....

Best thing to do is visit www.canadatrader.com and compare prices with other similar cars.

In alberta there is no tax on a private sale, but in BC you are going to be hit with PST at least.

No GST on a private sale. If you are interested in a 1.8T Jetta there is a guy I know that is selling his and it has a ton of aftermarket parts. I'll dig up the link and post it for you.

That trade in value..... Dealer has to make money somehow.... they will buy a car for say 15000 and then fix anything they may have to then they will put it on the lot for say 20,000 .... You come in and want 2500 off the price and there you go dealer made his money...

I looked again at the aformentioned car and ya it is a little high I would go there with 19,500 to 20,500

                              and i got one question
                              how the tax system works?
cuz how the government know like how much they actually sell

like...if it's say 20000$...and we put the # the guy sell is only 10000$
and i give another 10000$ to him by cash or wutever
                              does it work?
