I found this place in Calgary sometime ago, Harper’s Marine Centre LTD. that carries a similar thing. They carry the Tempo brand. The price they charge is $113 CAD per unit. A picture of that thing is here:

That one is like the one we had at my old old job. They work really well and you can get different size pickup hoses. I might have to pick one of those up

Damn I don't even have a garage yet Hopefully I will be buying a house within a year or two but for now I borrow space at work to do all my car work.

                    Re: Pela 6000 Oil Extractor

I bought a top, suction-type pump that gets power from your car battery, designed for boat oil changes, at Canadian Tire for $30 or so if I remember correctly.

Its not a Pela, but it sucks out all the oil and you don't need to hand pump it.

But what about the filter?? you still need to get underneath for that....Anyhow, this looks very promising for me, not having a garage and changing oil....Does it actually get all the oil out?????

TDI filters are accessed from the top it does leave a small amount of oil but nothign major.

Some guys on Fred's TDI site compared the Pela to the drain plug method....The Pela gets all but about 1/3 a cup (if you let the oil drain overnight). Compared to how long they let the oil drain at a dealership the oil removed is the same.

Even if you drain from below the car, you're still leaving all the oil in the filter casing unless you use an extractor to suck it out. So I think an extractor is necessary regardless or else you're leaving a good amount of oil in the filter casing.
