Just comparing to other cars and thought my boost was lower with all the mods.

      Maybe im just boost addicted

        what are your mods?

My top end used to taper off like that, but after the DP+TIP my actual boost matches the requested fairly closely...

My understanding would be that if you are already significantly lower than requested, you need to be looking elsewhere. This may come back to the common misconception that the initial spikes are good. It is possible they make the control system try to over react and pull back the boost.

If the specified boost was asking for more would this curve my actual boost higher? Or is there something else I need to do to get my actual boost after 4500rpm's to follow the specified boost more?

The graph with the corrected 860mbar shows a spec spike of 14ish and then around 13 throughout the band.

I had the same trend with spec vs actual before I put my tih and tb exhaust on. I'm not sure what its like now cuz the laptop died when we were doing my run but I'm sure the gap has closed at least a bit b/c the car feels a lot stronger in the high end after those mods.

You have those mods already though Mike and you have a FMIC to boot. What else could it be? Maybe the turbo is just too small.

You do understand also that if the air is being made more dense by the intercooler, the pressure should be lower? Or at least, it will be lower unless the turbo can supply even greater volumes. Which it can't.

I think the only way to solve this is to buy a VR6, eliminates the turbo alltogether , requested vs. actual can be measured via the throttle cable.

Sorry, i'm not being much help...But i'm learning a lot about turbos, this is cool.

Might be a couple things. I noticed my Maf g/s was only around a peak of 154g/s. And supposbly with a chip your suppose to see 160-180's. I wanna check a couple other logs to see if maybe my throttle body is closing on me. Possible Vacum leak? Exhaust leak?

I have a Jedi feeling that its the throttle closing... if it is my assumptions all along would be correct =)

I understand that the required pressure will be lower with the whole pv=zmrt equation, but I don't quite get why the ecu is requesting it and not receiving it.

It is receiving it (and more) where the turbo can deliver it. No one ever admits that there are limits!

If you have an intake this may effect the air flow to your MAF.

Hmmm I havent cleaned my intake for a while. Time to re-oil this guy. When are you suppose to change the filter or clean the filter on CAI's?

P.S. Hey Kor I like the FF Thief =) masmune was awesome but that damn ninja is the best when he's at his highest levels.

Yeah, true dat. I'm gonna hafta see how close my spec vs actual is in the higher end after my recent mods. Although Flanders said that his was matching pretty good...

Neil you had some sweet #'s. I know your car is pulling good.

Talked to Ken. Might swing me a deal if I choose to switch to APR.
