  • n75C vs. n75J comparison...

I finally got around to doing a good comparison with my n75c and n75j valve. I posted this on vortex, but I never check there anymore so I thought I'd post here too.

Originally, I had some surging going on with the C valve. I tried the J, which made it even worse. Then I got myself a Forge TIP, which cured all surging  and so I thought I'd try the J valve again! I was going to sell it, but now I think I'm going to keep it!

So, the below graph is a chipped 1.8T (Upsolute) with 2.5" downpipe, TDI midpipe + stock muffler, Powergasket, Forge TIP and a PiperX flat-panel air filter.

Note that there aren't any oscillations (yay forge TIP!) but there sure is a good boost spike  The big difference is between 3000 and 3500 rpm.

For reference, here's me with just a chip and 2.5" cat-back:

Now I want to try an H valve. Anybody have one for sale? Or even to borrow for a week so I can add to my graph?

I believe dale has a H for sale. Your J #'s look exactly like mine. Nice spike and then drop to 14-15 PSI throught the RPM band. The APR tiptronic programming does the same but holds around 16 PSI. Saw this on Trompings car.

does anyone know which valve reacts the fastest?

i found the same thing as you when playing with the j and f. the f seems to react faster than both the j and c

          True dat,

Yup. I was testing the MBC again on my car with the FMIC installed. I dont hit limp mode but I still get funny boost patterns when I redline shift.
