        Re: CAI paranoia

Anyhow, regardless of my worries, and the great black hose up above, I will recind my previous complaints and bitches about CAI's not making a difference....I don't know of its the 006 valve creating different modulation of boost, or the CAI and the cool weather, but the car is truly much much much more tourqey than before!! Between 2-3000rpm it pulls!! And the power is smooth as butter, it hardly feels like a turbo now, its just fantastic....No change in boost levels, but the blow off (I know, I know) actually releases all the air....Ex, before with my 710 when I released the throttle, the boost guage would flutter at 5psi with the chchchu sound.....now it actually releases to 10inHg, and idle sits around 20inHg, whereas the 710 would idle at 7inHg.....I'm impressed all around...can't wait for the chip!!!!

Yea, chip should have been first on the list of things to do on a 1.8t. After you get chipped Alex, you'll wonder why you didnt do it sooner.

See, this weather has its upside.

The torque on a chipped ko3s really is impressive. You have a race gas program on that fancy chip, Ryan?

no i didn't shell out for 100 octane mode cuz well i dunno where you can get it.. i can always upgrade it for like 80 bucks to get it tho.. i guess i could buy a barrell from shell or petro here in the city if i really wanted to.. my buddy's dad owns a helicopter and it uses like 118 or 115 octane!!! he wanted to put some in my car but i didn't know if it would be good or bad lol

Yes it is. The fuel pump is kept "cool" by the fuel in the tank so the less fuel the harder it is for the fuel pump to get rid of the heat it makes by working. You just shorten the life cycle of the pump if you let your tank run down the min all the time.

damn. I didn't know that. I don't usually fill up until the gas light comes on. I guess that is just one more thing to get done before warranty is up!
