  • Time for tint - Calgary

I just bought my "certified pre-owned" 01 golf 2.0 (I know, go big or go home. ) in Candy White. The car looks ok, (the price was right, not the colour and jeez I need rims) but I'm wanting to tint the back three. Any suggestions for a local to Calgary place that does a pretty good job at a good price?

Thanks guys. I'm enjoying my VW waaaaay more than my last car. You don't know me well enough for me to tell you what that was yet.

    C.J.

and be warned that a 5 window tint on a Jetta does not include the fronts - there are two little windows in the back.

I knew that from the dealer explaining their expensive tinting offer. Fortunately I have a 2-door. The dealer price was $250 for the back three. I think that's a stealership add-on.

In response to Ryan, I'm not sure I want to tint the fronts at all. I know it looks pretty cool, but I don't want to have any potential police hassle. I do't have pwr windows either, so it's tougher to get away with should I get pulled over - not that I ever do get pulled over - well, ok, I never got pulled over in my Saturn.

That would be awesome. I'm sure 3M wouldn't cost $399 from him either!!

The white is growing on me. I just need to help it along a bit. I think the windows will be a big help.

BTW, I went to Das Volks, great show. I had the little card under my wiper to check the site out. good stuff so far!

I took price over power with this one. Are there any reasonable mods to up my power without sacrificing economy and stressing my engine out?

3M trimline did a first class job and did all 5 windows on my GTI. @35% all round I don't think you'll have any problems, just roll your drivers side down when they approach so they don't get nervous...

Well you could always try an UPsolute chip, no one has ever done it to a 2L around here not huge gains but still some and can often improve fuel economy.

I got mine done by Jarod Simmie from Tinting Illusions. His phone number is 710-8023. He does all of SouthCentre fine cars dealership work, but if you call him, he will hook you up. He did awesome work!

I just took a quick look, and I don't think UPsolute has a chip for my 2.0.

They do have one it gives 9hp and 25Nm of torque according to their specs.

Is that the one listed as Bora in the database?

Yeah and also for beetle, their database is not perfect and skewed for the european market but if you want one it can happen!!
