Just bought a 04 Jetta Sport and want to chip it with the Wetterauer chip. Anyone chip their car and get hassled by the dealerships?

Re: Chipping and Warranty
Does Wett do a chip for a PD, I was not sure if anyone was chipping PDs in North America.
This warranty issue is one that always comes back and never changes. There is not a lot of people who have had many issues, but a warranty claim needs to be related to the chip to cause a big problem. That being said having a good local chip type person who may or may not be able to help you if you ever have any issues could also be a big asset.Blair

Re: Chipping and Warranty
Id look into upsolute if you are local (calgary) because Boy Racer (simon) on the boards here deals them at a pretty good price. Of course, this is assuming upsolute has a chip for the PD'sLast edited by James; 08-03-2004, 10:44 AM.REAL men use harsh language as self-defense

Re: Chipping and Warranty
I would agree with the statement that you should wait for the UP. If you REALLY need to chip right now you should look in to the Revo chip. I am pretty sure they have a PD out.
I haven't heard a lot of people say they are thrilled with the wett chip, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong places.

Re: Chipping and Warranty
Thanks for the support. We are trying to get setup for the PD engines (and all future Bosch ECUs that will require the same equipment). The trouble is getting the equipment and making it viable as it costs a great deal of money. Rene is getting one in the states but he will bring it to canada within a month or two. I am also trying to get my own equipment here in Calgary. Either way, within a couple of months (a lifetime, I know) we will have the ability to do the work.

Re: Chipping and Warranty
I 2nd the vote on waiting for somebody local (like Upsolute).
If you EVER have problems, is pretty convenient to have your local upsolute rep come and save you. While I haven't had any problems related to my chip at all (I'm out in OTtawa), I still don't regret going with someplace local! The support from Upsolute was fantastic!1.8T
