mikey OEMPlus on vortex sells them for 1100 or 1200 US shipped.. also the guy is currently doing a crapload of options on them like upgrade the 4300k bulbs and ballasts to 6000k kinda thing and he will smoke them or color match the inserts for you.. eventually i 'may' get hids but i never drive my car at night so its kinda a mod just to do a mod for me..

Only if you can provide the parts number. If the parts number does not exist in their catalogue then they will put up a request to the parts depot.

The crapload of options hmmm… sound like a non-engineer reinventing the wheel.

A very important piece of information that should know is the projector beam pattern and color is at the optimum performance with the original Kelvin rating of it designed for. With those creative people using more or less Kelvin rating xenon burner into the headlights will aversively affect the light output performance.

                    Re: OEM HID's

actually even the ecodes kill the stock lights.. coming back from edmonton derick's MMP's looked amazing compared to my silverstar NA setup.. I may just score some plain old Hella regular ecodes but they don't really stand out since they look like stock lights even though the output is great..

but james is right on the 'real' HID look is amazing at night.. i get jelous living in a nice hood where everyone has cars with them and my poor jetta doesn't

Even from a guy on Vortex, lets say 1200 US = 1600 CAN + Duty + Shipping

                        Almost $2,000 for headlights.

Never thought they would cost that much. Damn. Looks like Ecodes for me next. How much output difference is there with ecodes?

A lot, the ecodes are not really THAT much nicer than stock.

If you do get ecodes, I would suggest buying nice Hella's and some decent bulbs.
