So Im driving home from work today and I see this blue sunfire thats all done up with a fart can, bodykit, underglow, the whole nine yards, even had a double deck spoiler.

So I happen to pull up next to him at a light and I see this guy and his girlfriend and the dude looks over at me and smiles. I was like whatever cause its a sunfire and when the light turned green the dude just peeled out like mad. Then at the next light the dude looks over again then says something to his girlfriend and they both start laughing, by this point I had a huge grin on my face because I knew what was gonna happen next

When the light turned green this time, I got a perfect launch and just ate the guy, it felt soo good. I musta chirped all the way through first, and I was seriously gone. The dude turned off at the next light sadly, I was hoping to laugh at him.

Oh man I love APR!

Nice work. I think that is what I like most is the understated power of the VW especially with APR. Teach all those guys to respect the VW.

Last week my wife was driving and killled a guy in an old MR2. He wouldnt even look at us at the next light. It was funny as hell.

I used to have an MR2....A 1.8T is way faster but watch out for the rare Supercharged MR2 (88 and 89 only)....they will eat the 1.8T off the line and if the owner has done a pulley swap on the supercharger to increase the boost he will eat 5.0 Mustangs no problem. One big advantage the MR2 has is that is launches so hard....traction is very good with the mid engine setup.

Yup, thats true..I even took on the legendary z24 in muh stock tDI and had no trouble haha

Aly, was this in the NW? Cuz I'm almost positive that's the same guy that raced me near Hawkwood on John Laurie. Dork in a blue sunfire, neon lights, and his woman by his side watching him get owned

It sure was, right on shagginapi. He mand I pretty much drove all the way from market mall and then after he got owned he turned onto john laurie away from 14th, Im not sure what direction that is. So it totally coulda been the same dude! Thats halarious!

Nothing wrong with owning a sunfire. I just wouldnt waste my time and $ modding one. These are throwaway cars afterall.

Oh god yeah.....with a pulley swap, easily puts 180whp down to the ground... or one of the newer gen turbo MR2's, but if you think we suffer from heatsoak, think about a mid-mounted engine with ineffective stock intake and intercooler ducting...!

Aftermarket intercoolers help a lot. There was also the mega cool (and mega rare) HK turbo kit for the supercharged cars.....It used the the stock supercharger for bottom end and mid range and then the turbo kicked in for top end power.....The cars would dyno at 350 hp and run 10.5 in the 1/4 mile. Very hard to setup the car to run correctly and it seems that most owners ended up pissed off by the whole deal. Still the concept (and the performance) is very cool.

I love the shame of a loser, I burned a GLI VR6 on mcleod and heritage and after I won I slowed down to try and smile at him, or more importantly shake my head but he kept slowing down as well. Damn fools
