XM Radio

Anybody install an XM radio in their Jetta? I ordered the new Roady 2 XM Radio (it has a built in FM modulator as well as the cassette adapter. I was planning on using the FM modulator and was looking for a stealth install as I bought the remote control for the unit.

Can't get XM radio up here...I had it in my GAGT, useless....We're too far north for the satellite...

Thats not what I have heard, I thought you could get it as it is hard to stop satelite signals at the boarder. I have also heard of americans visiting Canada and have had no trouble getting it. They just will not sell subscriptions to Canadians but if you pay via CC and use a fake amercian address it is supposed to work no prob for what I hear.

Not true....XM radio is 100% good north to Edmonton at which point it has some cutout. There is a guy on the XM Fan sites that did a road trip from the US through Canada up to Alaska....He provided a detailed signal strengh report. He was getting signal in his car in Alaska but it would drop out behind hills etc. For the Calgary area the coverage is flawless.

That is correct. I have a buddy with a US address and will have the charges billed directly to my credit card...$9.99 US per month.

They also have it running in Audio Concepts, playing 24/7. They said it's great.

I was looking at them down in Montana two weeks ago when I was there.....I should have bought one then but decided later to get one....Lame shipping to Canada is expected to take 12 working days.....July 19 is my ETA. If you want to check out the different units availible you will that there are a lot of different styles. I like the Roady 2 because it is 30% smaller that the original Roady and it has a built in Fm modulator. It also comes with a free coupon to send in for a home connect kit.

I have been thinking of this for a while but for my house then car, I always wanted one of those Delphi systems at home as my stereo is on constantly. In my research I never encountered any problems other then finding someone to ship a Delphi player to me but Ebay can always help out.

I ordered mine from this site....XM Fan

The guy running it has a Yahoo Store. Check out the different models. I really like the fact that mine has changable display faces and that the light can change colors to match your dash.

I stand corrected then....I bought mine back in '99, and tried to get it but was unable to.....Its great that you could get it!
