  • New Show Mods for SCN

Well, Ryan and I decided to spice up the engine bays for the upcoming SCN show

Here' Ryan's newly sanded and smoothed engine covers. Painted metalic gunmetal with an anthracite/German silver racing stripe. And check out the polished intake manifold

Here's my newly sanded and smoothed covers color matched in Uni-Black to the exterior with a German flag stripe. And since I liked Ryan's polished manifold so much, I had to do mine as well

derick did his a little better than mine and got alot of the lower portion better so i may have to fix mine up this week to get it to match.. this winter we are taking them off and polishing the entire things up... 6 hours total for what you see so far..

ps.. you can't stop us from blinging cuz you'll get ran over!

edit.. i get brownie points for being gutsy enough to be the first in the club to do the polished manifold derick gets points too lol

Ryan, what are you doing for a fmic?

Heatsoak burns my @$$, but a decent fm is oh so expensive.

Re: New Show Mods for SCN

                i'm still choosing chad..

the new forge looks alright but its like 1.5" thin! and it comes with a golf rebar?? so i emailed them about the jetta cuz its all screwy..

the EVO is nice but no rebar anymore other than there ghetto one so screw that

the APR is nice too but way way too expensive

the ATP seems actually pretty good so far.. the pipes are bling at least and alot of people say it gets the job done for sure.. plus c1 has them which is kinda cool 10% off and all

the new eurojet is basically like the ATP but its like 850US so a bit cheaper but not much

simon's upsolute looks nice but its umm sorry simon.. not bling enough for me.. maybe if the entire core was polished up and the piping too i would look into it..

so far i have no clue though.. tommorow i'll decide probably

Hmmm, what about the Yanaka cores at C1? There was a thread on those in the performance section I think.

Think I smell another fmic mod day.

Just grab a couple big ole Saab ones off e-bay. I've got two here that are 24x18x1.5 that I got for just over $100 each after shipping.

                              just automotive paint..

first you have to sand the crap outta them to get them all smooth.. i dunno the grits as derick gave me the paper..

then primer it with filler kind primer.. 2 coats
                              3 coats of base color
pay derick 50 bucks to do a custom airbrushed design and clearcoat it for you
