Finally happened - window fell into door :(

As everyone said it would, my window fell into my door finally. Dropped off the car at 5th yesterday, I guess its not done yet but I hope it comes back okay!

If you haven't had this happen to you yet, try to get someone to replace the clip... this happened while I was staying in Banff for a week, and it was a pain in the ass not being able to secure my car.

That sucks Kris. I've always been paranoid about that also, but so far have had good luck (fingers crossed). So did you have to drive back to Calgary with the wind deafening you?

doh that sucks kris.. i always get scared going over speedbumps with my windows unrolled thinking they wont' come back up lol

ps.. new speed record 230km/hr coming home to my parents coulda gone more but i chickend out lol

The dealer will replace the old style plastic clips that are prone to break. I had both of mine replaced at 5th ave not to long ago. They replaced both fronts even though only one was bad, now if the backs break I will be pissed as I am sure they will try to screw me over.

I had both my regulators replaced...I should be good!

I lucked out -- mine died on a sunny day last year, and had both clips replaced the next day. And while they were at it, they replaced all the coilpacks too!

What is it that breaks? I had a 97 Jetta and the window went down and didn't come back up because the cable that moves the window carrier on the track snaped the plastic. Is this the same problem with the A4's?

Its not a recall but its fixed under warranty... they are pretty good about it.

Nope not at all, some of the older cars had plastic retaining clips that moved up the window. They have been replaced with metal ones because well surprise suprise they all break
