Delta6 Review (w/ monsoon)

Installed the Delta 6 today, and got it coded for Monsoon (thanks again Ryan). Man, this thing is awesome!! There is so much bass, and the mids & highs are so crisp and clear! I can't say enough good things about this deck!

In other news I also ordered up a Phatbox today, it should pair up quite nicely with the Delta. They said it would be here Wed. So I figure I will have it by Friday with a review to follow.

sounds great mike.. i loved that thing for OEM its the only way to go.. everyone who wants to keep oem should have it for sure..

a few things we encountered while coding it.. when i had the deck no radio fault codes would come up.. but when we put in in mikes no matter how we coded it for monsoon or non monsoon it would give fault codes that no speakers were present even though it worked and sounded awesome.. i'm researching into this for now as only 2 people (well past me, mike and this one guy in LA) have the delta in probably all of NA.. so its kinda hard to diagnose crap.. the dude in LA had a monsoon and got the faults too.. but he said it sounds awesome,etc so thats all that matters

edit.. i did some research last night and we still have to recode the deck slighty..

I was wondering what is this Delta6 you referto and also what is the phatbox? sorry if this is a stupid question but I have never heard of either.

the delta6 is an upgraded stereo option in europe for the mk4s.. its basically an aftermarket unit with a stock face.. its a very awesome unit to have.. it supports a ton of features.

in europe you can get 4 basic stereos with a mk4
1st and lowest - standard single or double din like all the NA cars have
2nd - delta6 or gamma5 - 200w way better sound,etc
3rd - no idea on the name- basically a double din in dash nav (not the color lcd one) its just a big blue screen that shows arrows like the MFA does.. same internals for audio as the delta6
4th- full blown OEM nav with color LCD.. same audio internals as the delta6

wow that is some cool stuff! How much do they usualy cost for both? Do you get the phatbox from the dealer as well? I tried to find more about it and it gave me a link to the VW located a dealer page?

okay well i first bought the delta 6 from german ebay for about 700cdn after it was all said and done with shipping,etc.. i wanted to go DVD so i sold it to mr. burns on here.. the phatbox can be bought from the dealer.. i think they go for like 650US or something

mine was brand new and brand new in europe they cost 900Euros!! which is insane.. and i'm gonna be cocky on this one.. i was and now mike are the only people in canada with this head unit.. there is one guy on vortex egorka(i think) with the delta6 and he is from LA..so to my knowledge those are now the only 2 people in all of NA with this headunit..

I am currently in germany so I could get it at the dealer. That price is pretty high 900 euros is like $1125 usd at the current conversion rate. Is it really worth that much?

haha don't buy it brand new.. go on german ebay man you'll get one for like 200-300 euros
