  • New Floor Mat Tie-Downs

    Hey All,

Was just perusing 5th Ave. this morning and was checking out the new GLI. I love that blue by the way. Anyhow, was sitting inside and noticed that VW has changed the tie-downs for the floor mats. Now, all you have to do is twist the plastic piece (kind of like the access to the amp in your hatch/trunk) and the floor mats come right off. So much better than the f*$k'n hassle you to have to go to get the current ones off with a screw driver. Also, I noticed that the GLI's have GoodYear F1 tires instead of the Pilot Sports like on the 20th. Is this something new as well?

Anyhow, just thought I would throw up a kudos for VW for re-engineering the floor mat system. It's about time.

    Cheers All,
    Rob

Perhaps... but with the new ones... there is no "push and YANK" required.
