I'm sorry, I see that my comment about you being ignorant was way off base. It's obvious that you know *everything*.

    My bad.

Give me one city worker who works harder than I do..couldnt find one eh?..and chances are they'll
make more money and have more vacation time than I do..So whos the sucker? Clearly its me. Maybe your right, maybe some do..but I have yet to meet, see or even HEAR of one. And if you work for the city, chances are your kinda biased and used to hearing the "slacker" comments that come from passing by vechicles but how about trying to meet a deadline now and again to prove me wrong?

and thats this week..Dont get me started on the BS that is deerfoot construction and the sad state of affairs the 37th st brdige has been under for the better part of a year.

            /disgust

I dont mean this to offend anyone unless you are a slack city worker, then PLEASE take offense and get to work, damnitt! You've got to understand that I live deep south and work deep north..Rush hour both ways
I take off for a few hours, and look what happens. First off, no one is ever going to win a " I work harder than you" pissing match, and besides, what does it accomplish? Nothing.

Dont paint all City workers with the same brush. That is like me saying that all people who driver VW's are morons. Clearly that is not the case, although I am sure that there are some out there that are, but the majority of them nice good people. As well, do you think that it is everyone who works for the City's fault that the roads need to be improved? Yah next week I will be paving, then I am gonna go be a paramedic the week after, I think it it my turn to be the Mayor in November. You make no sense.

I do work for the City, so yah I am biased. Why? because I am sick or ignorant comments about "City Workers". Many of us are educated, and work damn hard, for less money than you may think. Why do I do it? Because I give a damn about this City & its future.

Finally, don't preface offensive comments by saying "no offence". It does not make them any less offensive. No offence, you are ignorant, no matter how educated you ass may be. Maybe you should start talking out of your mouth instead of your ass. See it is still offensive.

Billip, sorry if this gets your thread locked, but this is more than I can stomach. As well, I will make a few calls next week to see if I can find out a better way to get you claim pushed to the people that can deal with it.

I am done with this thread.

              Re: Killer Pot Holes

Alex - Im not dissing city workers like ambu/fire/even po . They've always been there in good time and go their sh*t done.

As far as your family friend making less than he could..Ok..your right..but if he worked for a private company would he get 6 weeks a year off? How about a phat package when he retires that pays him like 80% of what he makes now (plus cost of living raises every year) until he's dead?

Gaffer - Im sure you work hard doing whatever it is you do but I can generalize all I want. My experiences with the city and their workers haven't been good and I would say thats the same for a good number of people in the city. This is where a generalization comes from! As far as I know, I said "im sure there are hard city workers, I just havent met, seen or heard of them" I didnt say "f*ck all the slacker city workers" because Im sure there are some that put in time and work I just havent seen it myself (and for the record, I know 3 people who work for the city..excuse me, that are contractors of the city )

Anyhow - Before this gets locked, Im gonna say Im sorry to Bill for thread jacking. No Offense Bro

                      Re: Killer Pot Holes

Hey bro (aka Billip), I had a situation a few years ago where my laptop was jacked by a local shop after they "took a look at it". I wrote a few letters, but eventually as a result of moving around and junk, never completed it. All I have to say, is stick with this, and see it through to the end, or it will bug you every time you think of it. I have some friends in the journalist field in Calgary (former PR student myself), and I could contact about this if you are not having any luck. Another route you could take is to contact the Better Business Bureau and let them do their job as well. They can offer support and resources for small claims issues, as well as direct you to people who deal with these cases on a regular basis. Keep us on the reel and I'll leave it at that so that this thread can continue...
