  • AWP 1.8T stock boost levels?

I was wondering what the boost pattern is like on the stock AWP 1.8T 5spds?

I used to spike around 14 psi and settle around 10 psi right away. Now, I spike to around 20 and hold 20 til around 4k rpm and it drops from there to around 10 psi. chips are so tasty

On my stock 1.8T 5-speed Tiptronic, max at around 11.6psi, and settle around 10-10.5psi.

Hmmm weird. My friends 2002 Jetta 1.8T 5 spd just zoomed away from my car. He had no mods... completely stock. Either my car is fuxord or auto is just freaking slow. I was shocked.

            1. Boost presure is not speed But the stock pressure is what the turbo can handle to redline, basically a chip just turns up the pressure in the low RPM's. So, about 10 psi at this altitude.

            2. If he got a better start than you but is slower, he will probably still beat you in the long run.

            3. Auto is always going to be a little slower, sorry to say it but its true

            4. Weight can possibly be a factor in any race, as little as the weight of 1 extra person can make a noticable difference.
