  • A Question for all you LOW riders out there.

    Would going with a smaller sidewall such as a 215/40/17 tire help??

    this is from AVONTYRES.com;

    215/40 ZR17: over all tire diameter = 604
    225/45 ZR17: over all tire diameter = 634

    thats more than an inch differance and both are suited for 7.0-8.5 rims

    Changing the overall diameter of the wheel will throw lots of **** out of whack.

      I would say this is an offset problem. Adjusting the damping will not help because with the rebound adjustment of the WEITEC TX kit. So, if your wheels are running over a pothole, the wheels will still go up at the same speed like what you have right now. Your fenders could shave the front tires when cornering at a faster speed causing even more troubles.

        i doubt you'll be getting a 45 series tire in 18, most people with 18's go 40 series. maybe even try get some 35 series tires.

          I agree, it sounds more like a slight offset problem. You could try to get some negative camber going somehow, but then your tires are screwed after a summer.

              Yah it's gotta be offset. You can run 18x8.5s without rubbing as long as you're not dropped more than 2 inches. What ET wheels are on there? You don't have spacers do you?

              Going from 17 to 18 shouldn't make a diff either, as the total wheel diameter is the same.
