Any one had problems with their heater not working? I mean nothing works with the dial, hot/cold, a/c, the fan, NOTHING. Pretty crappy seeing as now it's cold again....

At least it's still under warrantee, and I've got the life-saving seat warmers as a backup.

Anne, I don't think this is a common problem. You might want to try the dealership (especially if you have warranty). It might just be a fuse or something.

If you want to try an easy fix, open the fusebox. Fuse # 25 is for the heat/ac fan. Take # 25 out and check it over. If it looks okay (not melted or anything), clean the connectors and stick it back in. If that doesn't help, get a new fuse and try that. Should only be a couple dollars.

Another possibility is to just disconnect the battery for 10 minutes, which resets the electrical system. Although I am not optimistic about this fixing the problem, it can't hurt and is free to try.

Some questions that might help figure it out: do the lights still come on behind the switches? Also, does anything else not work? I found a couple posts on vwvortex where people had their wipers and indicators also stop working with their heating system.

Heated seats do rock though. Set it on five and drive.

ps.. lousy snow.. I drove my bros car today cuz the ridge was pure crap plus i twisted my ankle last night so i can barely walk and probably not clutch today

Could be your thermostat. ...doesn't explain why your AC or fan don't work though

Yeah I thought of the fuse too but it's totally fine... and everything else works (lights, wipers etc.)

Hurray for the warrantee...and maybe they'll wash my car while I'm there this time too
