  • Boost Gauge

Hey guys, Im thinking purchasing a boost gauge from concept 1. However, Ive never really installed anything on my car, so I was wondering if someone could watch me and teach me how to install it. Kinda make sure I dont break or wreck anything. Im kind of clueless when it comes to installing stuff, but I really wanna learn how. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanx

I should be able to help you out. I haven't done one before but I think we should be able to tackle it. I should hopefully be cleaning my intake next weekend if the weather is nice so I will be all geared up for workshop mode so let me know if you need a hand.

neil and myself did his in like 40 minutes its the stupid beotch clip that takes all the damn time the rest is easy as pie..
although cedrick IMO you should do it right the first time and buy the 42DD pod but buy an Omori guage.. they are crazy expensive but they look awesome and work great. My VDO is 1PSI off which bugs the shiz outta me and the perfect LED although matces color wise its near not bright enough

Not sure I would waste money on a boost guage from omori....not worth it spending close to $300 for colour.....There are so many guage options out there, my VDO works great, and cost less....

              Re: Boost Gauge

why is Omori better then VDO? Is it just the colour?

I was thinking of getting a Cobolt gauge cause they match really well.

heres a pic I found, it lites up the same blue as the dash, and the needle is the same red as the console.

Ill prolly just end up going with a VDO, the packaged deal is pretty good and cheap. I donno. . .

Oh yeah! Thanx for offering to help me out guys! When Im ready to install Ill let you guys know so I can get some help! Im really appreciative for all your help. Thanx dudes!

              Tootles!

the omori is 100% perfect match and has a backlight needle.. however the VDO with the new accessories will no longer buzz and match colorwise but you can buy whatever you want..

How much are those boost gauges? I wish I had a light for my needle as well.

its an electronic boost gauge, whatever that is, I think its about 230 or something like that. I went and checked em out a while back at mopac (or whatever that store is called) and my buddy that I was with said the price was ludicris for a boost gauge. . . I donno. In the dark can you see the VDO needle?

                        Hks.

Cobolt isn't a great match for the price. Get the Omori, or Apexi if you want to spend money, or get the VDO. HKS isn't too bad either. There's a thread in here with a bunch of gauge pics I think.

                            Re: Boost Gauge

Your gauge is a PSI off due to the elevation in Calgary - we have a lower barometric pressure. If your gauge WAS NOT a bit low then you should be worrying.

Does anyone else here have a perfect match bulb? I have one and I think it sucks. It's uselessly dim.
