How would stg 2 kill your car?

And the boys speak the truth. Stg 2 on an otherwise stock car and you should see 230-250 hp. You dont really need anything else. The kit comes with software (not the best, but it works), oil lines, downpipe, adj. fuel pressure reg., TIP, and all the bits & pieces to fit it.

It is NOT a bolt on per say. I didnt install mine, but rather took the cowards route, and paid C1 to do it. More difficult to install than a k04, but worth it.

If I were you Qua, I would keep the k03s or go stg2.

People say the auto will sooner or later die at 250 lb/ft of torque or above...

the k04 is a torque king. he'll be way above 250 w/ a k04. hell everyone is above that with a k03.

Very true I hit 236 last Dyno day, and basically just had a chip so the Ko4 is definitley gonna break 250 (if not I would use it as a anchor)

i did a block 120 since chipped and i pulled crazy high tq once again.. i forget the number but it was above 240.. have to get on a real dyno tho

How many of you guys have actually run a k-04? Not to be rude, but I would like to hear first hand feedback from some of you.

PM me, I would be happy to speak to you about it, we have run almost a dozen different turbos in a 1.8t, up to 52 lbs of boost and 800HP (testing for our sponsor).

The K-04 is a good unit, some of the dyno numbers seem a bit out to lunch, at 250HP, the k-04 would be spinining waaay beyond its intended shaft speed. They seem to be about 210-215 at most tests

I have a new k-04 for sale and a k-03 sport if anyone is shopping, they come with the chip as well, if you want it.

You ran a dozen turbos? What kinda results? Where do you work by the way?

Nobody has a K04 yet in a VW on this board... we have Sean who runs a GT28RS. Chad has a ATP kit with the GT28R.

We are sponsored by a turbo manufacturer, they send us turbos to test regularly, depending on your application I would be happy to get a group together and speak about the differences.

There certainly seems to be many opinions out there, make sure the opinion you are getting is based on some fact and controlled enviroment. I heard someone complain about the turbo in the car being no good, the problem was the missing hose clamp venting out the pressure over 6 lbs boost. Understand the problem before slamming the parts.

Sorry, just a bit of a rant, based on a current discussion with someone else!!

Nice. It is a real benifit for the club to have you around Miles, I for one learn something new every time we talk.

We can still do the chip stuff discussed some time ago. I will be at v8less too so we will have plenty of time for some chatting.
