REVIEW: TW Ultra Gloss

Well I was on Autopia.com and found that a lot of proffesional detailers are trying these new waxes that are out.

For instance:

-Meguires NXT-
-EagleOne NanoWax-
-Turtle Wax Ultra Gloss-

I just did one coat of the Turtle Ultra Gloss and oh my god does it do an outstanding job, I used to use the Mequires Pro series stuff like #9,#26 and such. This Wax does such a much better job its amazing. I had a few good surface scratches and this totally made them disappear along with swirls.

Application is super easy and removal is even easier. Super slick finish and I high gloss shine... Car looks like its still wet. WOW

The wax itself is a Carnuba and Polymer blend that does an outstanding job... and also it is supposed to work like Zaino in the fact that the more applications you put on the better it is supposed to look... By no means am I comparing this to Zaino but for 10.99 for a tub its hard to beat.

I highly recomend this as I have quite the selection of detailing crap and this is by far the BEST Consumer wax on the market (that I have tried).

Next on the list are the two others from the top list... My buddy has a black Ford Explorer that is in Rough shape cuz he doesnt care, that will be the new tewst subject once I can find the other waxes....

Nice write up. Is that a liquid or a solid wax? I'd also like to know how well it lasts. It seems to me like a lot of these waxes are aiming to just be easier to apply/remove, but personally I don't mind a bit more elbow grease if it lasts a few more washes.

I saw that nano-wax stuff at crappy tire, but it looked sketchy.

We should do a wax-off (no karate kid jokes please).

kris.. sure before FFH lets do it.. i waxed my car today then i have to wax it again for V8less then i'm claying it for FFH.. 3 times in 1 month jeebus my arm is gonna be sore lol

Well its piss pourin rain here now and its beading like a sonofa... I really like this wax though hopefully it lasts a while but it was super easy to apply and take off..

Now the endurance test... I will prolly put another coat on tommorow just to have 2 coats on her... but as for the black car it looks outstanding... covered up or did what ever it did to all swirls and mionor scratches...

oh ya it comes in liquid or Paste.. I used Paste

I was going to bar and wax my car this week. Where did you get the wax, I'll be a test subject as well. Anyone have tips for where to get and how to use a clay bar???

you can vortex search or simply follow the manual with the bar kit.. its easy to do.. just takes time.. here are the steps

wash car with dishsoap by hand.. rinse off and chamois dry
use clay bar kit (1-2 hours for good job)
wash car again with dishsoap by hand. rinse off and chamois dry
Glaze entire car.. buff out
glaze entire car again.. buff out
wax entire car.. buff out
wax entire car buff out
wax entire car buff out

it will take you seriously the entire afternoon to do a 'good' job on your car but the end results will pay off

so i was at crappy tire this weekend looking for mother's or meguiars swirl mark remover (i've got major swirl marks) and couldn't find any. the only thing that they had for swirl marks was the eagle one nanowax. so i decided to give it a try. on the box, it says that they're carnuba was particles are nano-sized so that the wax fills more of your swirl marks.

the box came with an applicator (which was way too small) and a microfiber towel. the wax was very easy to apply. and was very easy to buff out with the supplied towel.

results - amazing!! the majority of the swirl marks were gone. the only other product that i've used is 3M wax cleaner, and that does nothing for swirls. i could not believe the difference this stuff made. it was incredible. it only took an hour to do the entire car (not including washing). it gave a deep black wet look (even in direct sunlight) and most of the swirls were gone. definitely well worth the $15.99. now the only thing to see is how well it stands up to a couple of washes....

huh.. i dunno about that.. the dishsoap eats away all the old wax for sure though.. thats why you use it to remove every bit to get a perfect new finish on it

It doesn't strip away your clearcoat, but it does strip away all the wax or other buildup on your paint. Once you use dish soap, you need to wax right away, unless you want to leave your paint with no protection.

I dunno about some of those swirl mark things, there are fillers and then 3M stuff that is supposed to remove them permanently. Oh well. I want to clay bar my car pretty soon, but the weather is so wierd right now, and Canadian Tire was out of the bars. So I picked up some stoner glass stuff, its quality so far, we'll see how it holds up.

One queston on the wax you used... any white residue on the black vinyl parts? I'm thinking I'm gonna mask off the areas where paint meets black, as I can never seem to get all the white gunk off after a sloppy wax job.

I use some plastic cleaner stuff when I do that, but seriously it doesnt take that much extra time to be careful
