Passat W8 HID lights

I had one of the HID lights replaced on my 2003 Passat W8 B5.5 and the next day the other one started flicking and burnt out. The timing seems unlikely to be a coincidence. Anyone know if replacing one can impact the other?

Also, trying to find out if the window washer reservoir tank on that w8 is the same as the regular B5.5 passat? I believe it is.

Winter is coming, and I'm not wanting to be driving in the dark with a dirty windshield

If one bulb was out, then you know they were at the end of their lifespan. It shouldn't impact the other by replacing one, but being HID's generally they should be replaced in pairs as they change color as they age.

I would say it is completely a coincidence.

Happened to me too. Only it was a couple of weeks in my case. Just an extreme coincidence in your case. I'm going to be changing them in pairs from now on, like BaggedGLI said.
