    Re: 007+cai=?

Can't you just say that because cooler air is denser, you will have more 02 molecules in a given volume than you would with warmer air? Or is that over-simplified?

Cooler air is denser, but I think this logic is useful when talking about the intercooler. In the case with the intake air across the turbo, I think because you are doing work on the air by compressing it, it is not as clear how the inlet temperature affects things. In compression, you are effectively changing the volume, temperature and density of the air. All of these variables are related and all are altered. Definately, the intake charge temperature AFTER the turbo will have bearing on the density of the air, but I think that this was part of Alex's argument. I am actually not sure if a CAI will increase the amount of air getting to the cylinders due to cooler, denser air entering the system. I have a feeling the effectiveness of the intercooler has much more of an impact on the cooler air --> higher density --> more fuel --> more power argument.

My point was more along the lines of a lower inlet temperature results in less work required to compress air to a desired boost level. Resulting in faster turbo response, which in turn, results in faster throttle response. This was the one thing that I noticed when I installed my CAI and my previous post was just a geeky attempt of explaining why I noticed it.

          Neil . . . you have broken my brain . . .

          So a Autotech CAI and a inverted/reversed forge 007 valve = good? If I understood that correctly . . .?

BTW What exactly is making that cool ass sound?

I figure it can't be bad. How good of a bang for the buck is it?... I dunno.

That cool ass sound is your dv not being muffled by the CAI.
