  • Corrado?

So, I've had sort of an offer to trade my 1990 Pathfinder for a 1990 G60 Corrado, same clicks, similar condition, its a BC car, so I'm contemplating it, because both are similar in value aswell....Always wanted a corrado, and it would be an alright car to replace the GF's Civic.....I know the SC's are weak in them, but this car still pulls hard, and has had some work done to it....Does anyone know about parts availability on these, any stories, or anything at all....I'm pretty convinced, and it would be a cool toy, but want to make a decent decision since the pathfinder isn't being used anyhow...............................

    Re: Corrado?

I have two friends with Corrado's and one of them is a G60. IMO, they are the nicest/sportiest VW's (looks wise) ever. The G60 can be a good engine, but is really quirky at times. The SC's have their fair share of problems, so if you can do some of your own mechanical work that's a definite bonus.

94 was the last year, they were all of the Mk2 era, but look phenomenal! I do my own mechanical, and autobody too when I feel motivated enough.....I'll hook up with Tuna see what he says....Apparently the spoiler still comes up in this thing.....I just want a damn corrado!

The last year was 95' Wicked car I used to have one. You'll end up puting a lot of money into it though- just cause you want everything to be perfect. At least I did anyway.

                Re: Corrado?

yeah, it will be a second car for me, mainly the GF to use, and I'll rip on it when I want.....I noticed alot of mods on vortex in the classifieds cheap, as well as lots of replacement parts.....may not all be so bad, they had kind of a bad rep for reliability....

                  Re: Corrado?

I had one, a '91 from BC. I won't bore anyone with more of my stories. I'm not sure I'd trade a Civic daily driver for one though, I used mine as a daily driver. It had 117k's when I got it, put about 30,000 on the clock and $3500 in maintenance (not mods). They are a VERY quirky car, I still love 'em and If I could have one solely as a weekend car I would love it. Yes the charger can be a weak point, the average failure point is about 120,000kms depending on how it's been handled. A rebuild will cost you about $1000 from Kompresor Kanada (great place). The '90's cars had a bunch more recalls than the '91s due to the introductory release. I love talking Corrados so if you have anyother questions shoot me a PM. I had to do a lot of research when I had mine and I've been able to retain most of it.

                  Major Corrado changes.

1990 introduced to NA ABS, heated seats and Air con options (i think I don't know a lot about the 90's)
1991 Digital dash added, BBS wheels standard, only options were leather and tranny
1992 stay away from these ones, haha, they switched to VR6 1/2 way through the year. Also somewhere around the time they switched to the VR6 they switched to Electronic traction control from Mechanical limited slip (which is sooooo sweet)
                  1993 interior and body changes
                  1993.5 sutle interior changes

There is more but I won't bore you with the details.

They are still the greatest looking VW's around I love em, just can't afford to drive one!

Ok, I promise I'm gonna stop editing this post! Ryan, the last year was '95, you don't see too many of them though because they were approaching the price of a Porshe

The reiger widebody is cool looking.....I just found other mods were cheap, chips, suspension, etc.....the joys of an older car, we pay top dollar for the mods on our cars!

Yea, 'Rado's in good shape are soooo nice, but people want a lot of money for them, and get it usually!
