Lol that has to be the most ridiculous looking engine bay I've seen in a long time. It's just begging for a 3.0T and 3.0 TDI IMO... Or maybe even a 4.0T for that matter! Of course the 4.0T would never happen though, nor the TDI for North America.

240 HP for a vehicle weighing that much, and with the goal of moving 6 people fuel efficiently, seems ok to me.
They should hybrid this thing though!

Kinda looks like a jeep compass or patriot.

I don't like the small engines, but I don't think soccer moms need 350hp to move kids around. They better price this thing low if it's going to have a small engine.

I think this is terrible, even within that segment So uninspired. Exterior, interior, engine, every single aspect is poor.

I'll reserve judgement until I see it, drive it and find out the price tag! Must be honest in that I don't love the styling but VW's usually always look better in the flesh than in pictures!

VW Fatass -- that thing looks like a behemoth.

Designed for a diesel engine -- before diesel gate -- now set to launch as an under-powered SUV. Yawn.

They have announced the Atlas is going to be sold in Russia with a 2.0TDI, but exactly which one and if that is the only option are not clear yet.

What's with the tiny little engines??

My new jetty has a 1.4 and it's pretty good. Low end tq and good mileage. Good for daily driving.
