  • Car detailing ...

    Hi,

Do any of you have some recommendations for car detailing in Calgary? Mainly interested in the 3M Clearguard application.

    Thanks.

Hrm I had mine done with the dealer - they just contract it out to some guy that has a van and all the materials inside. I can't remember the name of the company though but he just does the 3M stuff, no detailing.

I had mine done by this guy and had him redo it, it was so bad the first time. He wasn't easy to get in contact with either when he knew I wasn't happy. I don't recommend this guy. If you remember the name keep it to yourself as I am.

Isnt it better to tell us his name so we dont accidentally use him?? That way we can benefit from your experience and not get bent over ourselves???

Got mine done at Trimline on 12th St NE. Great people, fantastic work. Better than the "dealership" job if you ask me. I have had mine on for a year now with absolutely no regrets. I just got the corners done and the hood lip for like $150. Doing the entire front end for around $450 - $600 just seems ridiculous to me.

                Cheers All...

That 3M **** is GARBAGE.... I had it on my car and it will take the finish off when you remove it.... I have tried this other stuff called RICCOCHET and it is way better quality I would recomend looking around for that stuff

He did a great job on mine (assuming it's the guy contracted to NL) - I haven't had a single problem with it.

Yep Arif did my car last year and he did a GREAT job. However, since he works out of his house, he didn't have access to things like paint chip filling etc and I don't think he does 3M. But if you want someone to detail the car, he does great work.

Rioccochet is garbage, it's only 3m film with a different glue applied to the back. The film turns green as it weathers. It is made by a guy in Okotoks who just adds his own type of glue. No film should take your paint off when it is removed. That only happens if the paint it was applied to was defective (crap) The stuff you want on your car is an avery film as it is the best on the market today.

I've had both and the 3M stuff is WAY different than the Richochet stuff.... might not be a bif name but in my opinion much better than 3M
