I like that look, but you can only really get away with the black rub-strips on a light colored car. I wonder if taking them off and putting them back on costs more or less than just deleting the side rubstrips altogether?

I dig the hatch/trunk blend too.

Haha, Yeah I'm just buggin' you Ryan . That Vortex thread is starting to get pretty entertaining after that dude trash talked all the cars that were posted. I was gonna slam him for the hell of it, but he sent me an IM to give me props for my car one time

So now I'm just gonna sit back and watch the flames fly

                  jetta: polska

Du-Du's red widebody GTI has been my fav for a while. It's so clean and classy.

Re: man a new favorite dub

He didn't diss you.... directly anyways

                        Quote from Vortex:
                        "What happened to originality?
Dub_Oddity, Abtcup, VentoDan, Thorax_Embalmer, Drivrswntd,... These guys knew what was up. All the originality has gone out the window, and it pisses me off.

BBS wheels galor... and for the most part (save the RS's on that Imola), they're all played. Yes, even LM's (save gold ***. edition LM's with red centers).

I don't care if it's near stock, completely custom, or somewhere in between... Any of these types of cars can look completely assinine, and most of them do.

And I understand that a "work in progress" can be horrible looking for a while, but it seriously seems to me that most tuners these days stop short of quality parts, and quality work. Taking your time, getting things right, and having a clean car that flows together is what it's all about.

The grey Mk4 here... the sleepy-eyed one; Makes me sick. The lip on the wheels is amazing, but the choice of front lip, the beetle headrests, the grill... and don't even get me started on those horrid fenders. It's an eye-sore. Nothing on that car flows, and usually with shaved doors, it's not that difficult to make a car "flow". With all that money spent on that car, the job could have come out much nicer.

And JayB's car is lame too. Ever since I read that article in PVW about it, they just clowned him hard, and I disliked his car even before I even read that. Yes, his new look is better, but still nowhere near my taste.

I'm sad to see all the originality go down the tubes. Just my opinion.

Feel free to flame me all you want.

I'm not criticizing the hard work that went into the cars... I mean, hard-work, blood, sweat and tears is hard-work, blood sweat and tears. I give props to anyone who builds up a car for himself/herself. It's simply the decisions that were made to make certain vehicles look the way that they do that burns me. "

of course we're not going to be original, because i dont think any of use have $10k to waste on their VW. not saying we dont have the money, just we dont wanna waste it on a 20k car.
